From April 13 to 24, 2026, nurse practitioners registered to practice in BC had the opportunity to vote on whether to give NNPBC a mandate to pursue a Main Agreement, or a comprehensive compensation framework, on their behalf.
The anonymous vote was open to all registered NPs in BC, whether or not they were NNPBC members. Voters needed to register to vote in advance of the ballot opening. The vote was delivered through a secure, third-party online voting system, Simply Voting.
Nurse practitioners voted in favour of NNPBC pursuing a Main Agreement.

A total of 856 votes were cast out of 1,019 registered voters, representing 84% turnout.
The specific voting question posed was: Do you support NNPBC pursuing negotiations to establish a strategic, comprehensive compensation framework for Nurse Practitioners in British Columbia?
To achieve a mandate, NNPBC had set the yes threshold for the vote at 66%. That is, 66% of voting NPs had to vote yes for NNPBC to secure a mandate.
This result provides a clear mandate for NNPBC to move forward with the next phase of this work.
